Diesiocho celebration in the plant cafeteria

Dieciocho, the 18th of September, celebrates the day of Chile's Independence from Spain.  This special holiday luncheon is held annually in the cafeteria of the the plant.  In the center you can see two people doing the national dance, the cueca, in which the participants wave hankerchiefs. Patriotic songs and music were provided by an excellent local group.  Traditional foods served include empanadas, barbecued meats, boiled potatoes, onion and cilantro sauce, Chilena salad and dried peaches in syrup with wheat made like hominy.
