Florida Fun

Partying pickleballers

In June, 2020, despite the height of the Covid-19 pandemic concerns, our fun pickleball group enjoyed a socially-distant gathering to wish Carmen a farewell as she planned to move to Dallas, Texas. At right, our hostess, Shirley, provided her front lawn as the venue for this great celebration. Thank you Shirley!

Below, Barb presents Carmen with a personalized card and gifts.

Each pickleball player’s face was included in the card which was passed around and signed by all those attending the special event.

Above, speeches and gift box. Below, Carmen enjoys the card while Lou looks on.

As you can see, there was a wide range of emotions for Carmen, with mostly plenty of good laughs and the occasional misty-eyed moments with her farewell pending.

Below, Eddie (left) and Judy (right) enjoy the card as it was passed around for review and signatures.

Shirley’s welcome mat says it all: Happy Everything!  We all had a great time and wish Carmen the best in her new location. We were fortunate to have Carmen come back to visit us and play from time to time.
