Arrivederci Roma - The farewell dinner and Rome at night: April 28, 2010

Our driver, Nino, and tour director, Cristina, were ready to lead our last night out on the town!

We went to one of the fine Roman restaurants, so fancy that this is what the ladies room looked like (photos by Margy)!

Left, Henry and Tracy from San Francisco. Above Michael and Liz, from Tasmania. Michael became a whole other person as the night's festivities got underway!

Sally and Jorge

Margie and Dan

Above, Marie and Bill from Canada (originally Holland), and at right the newlyweds, Jake and Lilia, from Denver.

Annette and Doug

Stan and Gail

Philadelphians, Marty and Elaine

New York City nurses, Kamala, Nora and Nicole

The "new" Michael (or should we call him Michelle?)! He was a great sport, providing entertainment for all of us.

"Latin lovers" took on a whole new meaning!

The smooch was loud and sensual (although only to the waiter's own hand).

Marty and Elaine celebrated their 40th anniversary while Jake and Lilia their first week. These were real smooches!

Can you tell that Margy and Sherry were having fun? We all were! A great night of excellent food, fine friends in a high spirited atmosphere.

Stewart, Artie, Margy and Sherry, all together for 40 years since our university days, and still having fun. A great week, a great adventure, a great life!
When the dinner ended, we took a leisurely ride back to the hotel, with time for a photo opportunity at St. Peter's Square at night. What a sight!

This was a wonderful way to end our ten days on the road, traveling a thousand miles, visiting a dozen key cities, learning about Italy, its culture, history, art and people. We made new friends, enjoyed time with old friends, and have so many good memories to keep this special time with us forever.

We hope you too have enjoyed the photo summary. Please come back to these links or our home page to search more items of interest.
