Lynnworth Family ReunionRockport, Massachusetts: November 6 - 8, 2009We gathered with Artie's brothers, their spouses, children, and grandchildren for a fun weekend at this beautiful old Stone House on the Atlantic coast, about an hour north of Boston. There were 15 of us in this rented 8-bedroom home, which was the former summer place of the Chase and Sanborn coffee family in 1895. We relaxed, cooked meals together, shared quality time, and watched old family movies from the 1950's. We hope you enjoy the photos, which are a collection from each of our families there (These aerial photos were from a picture hanging in the house). The Stone House is in the lower left corner. |

We flew up from Florida a day early, and stayed at our Nashua condo. We noted the bare trees and fall colors compared to the south. |
The drive to the coast was gorgeous, as exhibited by these colorful canopied trees just miles from the Stone House. |
An impressive first-view of the house on the Ocean! |
| We explored the surroundings, including lawn sculptures, a seawall in the back yard, and beautiful views inside the three-story house. Larry and Danny pose with statue. |

Ray and Shelley gave us each a personalized keepsake hoodie with this uniquely embroidered logo, just like the Stone House . |
| The first night we all went out to dinner, but from then on all the meals were family style at home, with various family cooks preparing specialties. |
For example, the next morning we all woke up to a smoke filled kitchen, as eggs and potatoes were fried on the stove top and all of us happily mingled at the start of a new day. |
Many fresh foods were available. For lunch Ann and Dom prepared a tasty tortilla buffet. Those are Dom's hands at the right, speedily slicing some tasty peppers. |
| Open Wide! |
"Pop's Pizza" was the specialty that Ray and his daughter Jill prepared for dinner. Note the concentration and protection! |
Even the kids got into the act, with Brian and Maddie getting hands (and faces?) into the flour and dough. |
| Giant quantities of mozzarella cheese, sauce and unique ingredients were organized to flavor each pizza. Finally, the oven was loaded for mass-production delivery to a hungry household. |

With all the variety, everyone had the kind of pizza they wanted. |

Ray and Jill were justifiably proud of their creations (Pop sure would have been proud)!
There is always room for dessert, and laughter! |
| During the weekend, each of us found our time and space to just relax alone, talk with others, soak up the sun, or curl up with a good book. This area was the site of the novel and movie, "The Perfect Storm," but for us it was "the perfect weekend!" |
Sometimes we soaked-up the sun in the enclosed porch instead of outside. |

It was so nice all weekend to see poignant clusters of discussion between spouses, mothers and daughters, brothers and sisters, uncles/aunts and nieces/nephews, cousins, and all possible combinations of bonding and sharing. |
| With everyone having cameras, sometimes you just couldn't escape the paparazzi! Margy and Elaine enjoyed the peace. |
Nor could you escape eating, drinking and hugs, plus lots of conversation and fun. |

| The kids had fun, not just climbing the rocks, but collecting seaside trash. |
They certainly did their share to clean-up the coastal environment. |
| Speaking of the coast, the back sea wall is slammed with waves at high-tide, but later provided a nice beach front for sun bathing. |
After sunbathing a bit, the tide came back in and we had to clear out from below the break-wall. |
| It's mostly a "guy thing." Danny vaulted across the giant chasm. | ||||||
| Like father, like son (Max).... and daughter (Maddie)! |

From striking sunsets to the beauty of local birds, shops and fishing villages, we enjoyed full days exploring the area's sights. |
| We visited downtown Rockport, a quaint fishing village with artful boutique shops and one great aroma-filled candy shop. | ||
| We could understand why this was an area for artists. Everything looked like it awaited an artist's painting and beautiful frame. |
| Colors, shadows, streets and boats, all captured our attention. If we were not so cold, we would have stayed longer. | ||
| While Ray was out for exercise, he discovered a nearby cove that provided beautiful views of the ocean, with fun rocks for the kids and us to climb. We walked a short way from the Stone House to the spot he found for us. |

Red seaside berries were bright contrast to the brown tones of autumn. Below, reflections of the beautiful day at the bay. |

| Back at the Stone House, Margy was busy through the weekend downloading everybody's photos so that we could enjoy
this multi-family photo collection to share with you on this Web page. As we wrapped up the weekend, we gathered to view old family movies from the 1950s (turned into digital DVDs). |

It was fun to see Artie's mother and father when they were 41 and 45 years old, as well as Larry at 18, Ray at 12 and Artie at 8 years old. Some of the fun family activities and commentary brought tears of laughter to our eyes. |
A video made in 1984 of Artie's parents included family stories, and their philosophy of life: live, and enjoy! |

Viewing the videotape from 1984 on a wide-screen TV, and hearing the vibrant voices of Adella and Maurice when they were 70 and 74 years old, was a moment we will all remember and cherish. Each family received a copy of this DVD. |
The weekend would not be complete without a family group photo. |

We had to yell to get everyone gathered, and then fool around for a bit before the "official photo." |

Not shown were Stevie (who had a bad cold and could not come) and his wife Nadine. They were with us in spirit! What a great weekend this was for all of us. |
