4 Continents in 21 Days

Part 5: Sydney to Santiago, Chile

Early Monday morning, June 22, Coté brought us to the Sydney airport for our next leg: Chile. What a great 10 days we had visiting Ann, Dom, Steve, Claire, and Coté, plus many other friends and sights!

We had splurged with our "frequent flyer" points, and so we continued our international travel in Business Class with lots of leg room.

As we departed Australia, Artie gazed out the window with happy thoughts about our visit with family and friends.

Arriving in Chile we again saw the progress with the new Skyscrapers going up in our old neighborhood. At Mónica's apartment, we showed her photos of her daughter, Coté, and our adventures there.

As always, Mónica cooked up some great meals for us, and Gustavo helped with the dishes. At a quiet moment, we presented Mónica with Coté's surprise gift for her Mom, a beautiful ring. Mónica loved it and immediately put it on.

Ale and Flaca invited us for dinner in their recently remodeled house. Here, Ale prepares the traditional Pisco Sour, in their beautifully renovated kitchen.

Before the grand kids went to bed, Mónica had fun playing with Valentina.

And also with Agustín.

Mónica presented Agustín with Coté's gift toys and new schoolbag (with the Koala on the back, of course). Then Agustín played patty-cake with grandma!

We ended the meal with dessert brought from Australia: Tim Tams again! Yummy! After only two nights in Chile, we headed back to the USA for Artie's brother's wedding.
