Plus condo progress update, visits with new and old friends and more... |
| We packed up "the family" for yet another trip, starting at our condo in north Florida. Monkey Face and Mega Monkey were happy to see their Florida cousins. |
| We had Sunday brunch with Mary Beth, a sister of our friend John. She lives in Jacksonville, and she came over to meet us. We enjoyed getting to know her, and look forward to seeing her again in the future. | ![]() |
| The new opening into the great room in the formerly windowless room upstairs was a success, giving us lots more light and a new feel for this room. The repainting of all of the ceilings, and the great room walls with a new lighter color, has also helped. The upstairs room will be extended toward the lake with windows to enjoy the view. | ||
| To make room for the new dormer, the master bedroom vaulted ceiling will be changed. | ||
| Our architect, Mike, and builder, J.P., double checked measurements for the roof changes. The new Florida room, replacing the screen porch that was on the slab outside, will have a peaked roof too. | ||

Artie climbed on the roof the next day so we could get an idea of the view we will have from the upstairs room. |

We took a few trips across this beautiful bridge to do some shopping in the Jacksonville area. One of our projects was to find a model car to purchase once we relocate to Florida. The Toyota Avalon became our favorite for the April 2008 purchase. | |
| After any around-town trips, can you imagine our joy when we return to views such as these? Margy captured this
picture (at the righ) in the early morning as the sun rose across the lake, lighting up our "back yard"
view. We were not the only ones to enjoy the warmth and tranquility of the moment. Below you can see a typical lake view that we will enjoy as we relax in our new sun room, which is perfectly positioned, close to the edge of the lake. |

| On the way to Margy's sister in Melbourne, we stopped and visited Bob and Carol. Their daughter Tammy was there with her husband, Bon, and their 4 children. We hadn't seen Tammy in decades! | ||

| They were in the process of shooting a family picture for their Christmas card as we arrived. We took some pictures too. |
| We celebrated our first Thanksgiving in the USA in 8 years. What a wonderful meal! Mary had come in from Denver to visit her parents, Anne Fay and Peter. For many years the entire family would gather at their house for Thanksgiving dinners. This year our group was small, but we spoke on the phone with many other family members. | ||
| Some of you may recognize the turkey banner which has decorated our Chilean Thanksgiving dinners since John and Bobbi brought it to us in 2001. We also brought some turkey centerpieces that we have used in Chile. | ||
|
Day and night - neighbors decorated for the holidays. |
| On the way to the airport, we stopped by to visit with Artie's Aunt Bessie in Orlando. At over 91 years old, she was full of spirit and fun. It was a great finish to a delightful week in Florida. | ||
