Our Trip to Europe

April 13-23, 2007

 Part 2: Holland

Land of windmills, wooden shoes, canals, tulips and friends.

We saw it all!

For our three days in Holland, Antonia was our personal tour guide while Cristian was busy getting ready for a concert. She had been living there for about a year, studying music for her masters degree. We had a great time as Antonia showed us the canals, art museums, local shops and the beautiful gardens.

It's good we had our guide. Reading Dutch was impossible!

We marveled at the Rembrandt masterpieces.

We enjoyed many reflections: thinking about the life captured in Rembrandt's art, quick reviews of photos while snacking in local restaurants, a brief visit with Casper and Lotte, who were neighbors in Chile and have returned to their native Holland, plus evening reflections of historic buildings in the Hague.

After marveling at Rembrandt's art, we then marveled at that of Mother Nature. Holland's tulips are amazing. These endless fields of color will end up in many gardens and homes.
