Our 2005 Homeleave -

July 11-27, 2005

Visits with friends and family in New York State
One of our visits in New York State was the home of our neighbors Bud and Shirley who lived across the street from us when we lived in Camillus. Of course we had to take some pictures or our old house, front and back. We even spoke with the woman who had bought the house from us so many years ago! We lived there from 1970 to 1978. It was our first house.

We stayed with Ernie and Anoush near Syracuse, NY. We always have a fun time with this couple. Their charming home is filled with Micky and Minnie Mouse memorabilia and so smiles are everywhere.

Ernie had been on the Gymnastics team with Artie at Syracuse University. We got together with some more of our gymnastics friends for dinner one evening. Gerri and Bethyl, wives of former gymnasts, brought back fond memories of our days at SU.

Next we headed west to Skaneateles Lake. This is the home of Margy's good friend in junior and senior high school in Endicott, NY. Carolyn's grandparents built this house on the family farm next to the lake when they were first married.

This was great place to catch up with Carolyn and with the Casey sisters, since reunions, high school, family and friends were the main theme of our 2005 homeleave.

After the school reunions in Endicott, my sisters, some husbands, and kids came to the lake for a family picnic.

Bibba and Artie
After the initial preparations for our picnic were begun, there was time for some of us to enjoy the crystal clear water of the lake. There was a lot of chatting before, during and after we ate.

Our gourmet picnic was a cooperative affair featuring fresh lobsters from Maine, brought by Pat and Dave, and salmon poached in wine prepared by Bibba. We also enjoyed delicious salad, potatoes, rice, fresh fruits and vegetables, and brownies. Yum!!!   Enjoying our feast

Peter, Bob and Devlin   Later arrivals were Kathy's two daughters. Devlin and Peter had enough time to swim in the lake. This was our first time to meet Peter since they got married in Sweden.

Alison and her fiance Brian arrived while we were eating.
